The Lisbon Summit, led by The European Union member states threw down the challenge to convert Europe into the most advanced Knowledge-based economy in the world by 2010, for this reason, the creation of a unique space for innovation, education and research has been committed, and an ambitious entrepreneurial promotion programme has been launched.

All these challenges include a major effort for Universities and University-Industry collaboration, particularly in the regional area.

Reference Portal "University-Industry and Regional Development"
The creation and development of a reference portal is one of the most outstanding Project-based results. To start a "thematic place on the web" in which to concentrate knowledge and social awareness of University-Industry co-operation and its contribution to regional development.The portal is the main tool for communication and promotion, and will offer to involved and interested sectors a projection of project-based results and activities. The Portal with options in English and Spanish, has in view the possibility to access from the different regions in a personalised way.

Experts Virtual Community in University-Industry relationships
Another most outstanding operation result is the creation and development of a "Experts Virtual Community" which will result of grouping different thematic communities formed for each project areas and components. One of the aims wass also to consider the creation of virtual communities for each one of the project-related regions. It deals with the creation of a common space for debate and reflection inside the University-Industry relationships, that is to say, share for learning, for confronting new challenges and for improving the incidence on regional development of University-Industry relationships' enhancing. Working groups were created for each one of the Project-based components and areas and they are open to experts and professionals interested who can take advantage of intranet and extranet utilities.

Observatory for "University-Industry Co-operation"
The Observatory is composed by a Good Practices Guide for University-Industry Co-operation with incidence on regional development, as well as by different Reports on "the-state-of-the-art" of University-Industry Co-operation which were realised. The Observatory will be one of the essential elements of the Project-based portal. For "the-state-of-the-art" reports making, as well as for the selection and writing of "good practices" cases, a methodology, resulting of the working groups respective tasks will be worked out and disseminated.

University-Industry European Prizes social projection
The Call and award for European Prizes to the best university-industry co-operation practices with incidence on regional development is perhaps one of the project -based results with more projection. On the one hand it gathers the internal work of the Project members; on the other hand it will contribute to encourage interested and involved experts and professionals to participate, in general beyond participants geographical area. Finally, it will facilitate the Project social projection and dissemination. Besides prizes, which are one of the more contributing tools to professional dynamisation and mobilisation around the operation, the project made the public call for two conventions whiose results were gathered as well as a complete plan for regional dynamisation which goal is coordination and working meetings development in each one of the participating regions.
